Michael J. Turwitt is a seasoned international business executive with particular expertise in global sales & marketing, equipment remarketing and distribution management. He has significant energy industry and power systems product experience, including complete turn-key power plant solutions; has run global sales/marketing organizations; has managed import & export business development programs; has been extensively involved in negotiating large projects all over the world; and has held a broad range of international senior management positions. As such, he has extensive, successful, hands-on experience in every key area involved in successfully running an international manufacturing & distribution organization.

Michael has more than 25 years experience in capital goods, sales & marketing, business development, engineering, project management, and energy investments, including developing, constructing and commissioning power plants, cogeneration and distributed energy systems. He directed a wide range of engineering, business, technical and project management resources to develop projects and create joint venture opportunities all over the world.

During the past 25 years, he has gained a solid reputation among colleagues and customers alike as a trusted business development and power systems expert in the energy industry, with a rare balance of strategic insight, operational expertise, technological and financial skills, and globally sales/marketing savvy. Michael is a professional marketer with exceptional skills driving innovation and to add value. As President & CEO, Michael is responsible for 2G-CENERGY’s day-to-day business, strategic planning, customer and alliance partner relations, project sales, and general administration.

   


BIOGRAPHY

 

Michael J. Turwitt was born in Germany. After he completed his B.A. in mechanical engineering and gaining an industrial M.B.A., Michael worked as International Sales Executive for the large Scandinavian FLS Group in their SKAKO Machinery Division, responsible for markets in the Middle East. Only after three years he was selected to be responsible as Export Marketing Manager for concrete batching equipment, and later also for construction machinery, providing sales & marketing support functions for distributors in Europe, USA, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Thereafter the BMW Group in Germany, a 50 billion US$ corporation, appointed him to the position of Project & International Market Development Manager in charge to develop and to implement a new effective conquest sales strategy as well as a cross-border and multi-cultural sales incentive programs, helping to spearhead sales, marketing and operational activities, incl. dealer development and training.

 

In 1991 BMW asked him to serve as VP Aftersales & Business Development in Great Britain. During this assignment he also implemented an engineering program in the UK, assisting the group's product development division regarding market specific technical aspects. After a short return to the Group Headquarters in Munich where Michael formed an international human resources development strategy for the global sales & marketing divisions, he was appointed VP Latin America located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

Next to implementing BMW's regional sales strategy all over South America, he was also responsible to develop and to train local dealers and distributors. Michael increased sales through new marketing techniques, as well as market-oriented sales promotions. In 1995 he was then appointed President of BMW's subsidiary in Brazil, with direct responsibility for 120 associates, and 24 dealers with in total 1,100 employees. During this period he increased the annual sales revenue from 150 to 400 million US$. While serving in this position Michael also negotiated and led a 500 million US$ investment for a Land Rover CKD assembly and engine factory project in Brazil.

 

After immigrating to the US, Michael was asked by RING POWER CAT, a large CATERPILLAR factory distributor with more than 2000 employees and 1.3 billion US$ revenue, to implement a professional international sales function for the EPG (Electrical Power Generation) Power Systems and Energy Equipment export business. Michael accepted the challenge and subsequently traveled to potential markets in South America, Europe, especially Eastern Europe, Asia, to the Middle East and Arabian Golf, as well as to Africa. Consistently Michael pursued two intertwined interests: effective and professional export marketing and global expansion. His tenure as RING POWER (Power Systems) Vice President & Director of International Sales coincided with unprecedented growth in the sales of electrical generator sets, cogeneration equipment, complete power plants and energy systems to more than 130 countries.

 

Michael's expertise in business development, marketing, market entry strategies, distribution of energy equipment and power systems, his in-depth know how of considering cultural aspects, his skills in foreign negotiation, and adapting specific marketing programs in energy markets is unique, unparalleled, and unmatched within the worldwide CAT power systems distribution network. Proven results and many years of success, unmatched by anybody else, made Michael the leading CAT power systems and energy equipment marketing and international distribution specialist in North America.

In 2009, he founded CENERGY Power Systems Technologies Inc. and formed a joint-venture with 2G Bio-Energy Technology Corporation (2G Bio-Energietechnik AG, Germany) who became a major shareholder of 2G-CENERGY. At that time 2G-CENERGY became part of the 2G Group of Companies. Michael is fluent in five languages, is married, has two children and lives in Orange Park, Florida, US.
